- What is Code Tools Studio?
- A browser-based collection of developer and file utilities: JSON formatting, code minifying, regex testing, PDF merging and splitting, image conversion, text utilities, and more. It's built for a quick in-and-out task, not as another account-gated SaaS dashboard.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. Everything runs at codetoolsstudio.com in your browser; no browser extension, desktop app, or CLI required.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Not currently. The site is fully responsive and works in any modern mobile browser, but there's no dedicated iOS or Android app.
Privacy & security
- Is my code or data uploaded anywhere?
- For most tools (JSON, code, regex, text, and conversion tools), no. Processing happens entirely in your browser, so what you paste never leaves your device. Only PDF tools send input to our servers, since that processing can't run client-side.
- What happens to files I upload to PDF tools?
- They're used solely to perform the requested operation. Uploaded files are auto-deleted within an hour and aren't retained beyond that unless you're signed in and explicitly save the result to your history.
- How long do you keep uploaded files?
- Up to one hour, after which they're automatically deleted from our servers. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of what's processed and what's stored.
- Is my connection encrypted?
- Yes. The entire site is served over HTTPS with TLS 1.3 encryption.

- What kinds of tools are available?
- Six categories: Code (JSON formatter, JWT decoder, code minifier), Text (regex tester, text diff, case converter, markdown previewer), PDF (merge, split, PDF to text), Converters (image, Base64, URL, color, timestamp), and Generators (JSON schema, hash, UUID, lorem ipsum). - Is there a file size limit?
- Yes, and it varies by tool: most text and code tools handle files up to a few MB, image conversion up to 25MB, and PDF merge up to 100MB. Each tool's page shows its specific limit.
- Can I use these tools on mobile or tablet?
- Yes, the interface is responsive. Lighter tools like case conversion or hash generation work fine on a phone; heavier ones like PDF merging or image conversion are easier on a larger screen.
- How fast is processing?
- Client-side tools like JSON formatting or case conversion are effectively instant since nothing round-trips to a server. PDF and image tools that do hit the server typically take one to a few seconds depending on file size.
Account & billing
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. Every tool works immediately with no sign-up. Creating a free account only adds extras like synced history across devices.
- How do I sign in?
- With GitHub or Google via OAuth; there's no separate password to create or remember.
- Can I delete my account and data?
- Yes, any time: email privacy@codetools.studio and we'll delete your account and associated history.
- Is the free tier really free?
- Yes. Every tool listed on the All Tools page is free to use, with no ads and no forced upgrade prompts. A small set of heavier tools sit behind a paid Pro tier: see the Terms of Service for the current plan details.
- Do you store my payment card details?
- No. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
Technical
- Which browsers are supported?
- Any recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. Since most tools run client-side, a browser released in the last couple of years gives the best performance.
- What's your uptime?
- We target 99.9% uptime.
