About Hash Generator

The Hash Generator computes MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512 hashes of your input simultaneously, updating live as you type. All five hashes run client-side in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste text into the input field.
  2. All five hash values update automatically below.
  3. Click the copy icon next to any algorithm to copy that hash.

Common use cases

  • Generating a checksum to verify text or file integrity
  • Quickly hashing a value for deduplication or lookup keys
  • Comparing hash output across algorithms for compatibility testing

FAQ

Are MD5 and SHA-1 safe to use?

Not for security purposes: both are cryptographically broken and shouldn't be used for passwords or signatures. They're included here for compatibility and non-security checksum use; use SHA-256 or SHA-512 where security matters.

Is my input sent to a server?

No, all hashing runs in your browser using the Web Crypto API.

Can I generate a SHA-256 or SHA-512 checksum specifically?

Yes — all five algorithms (MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512) are computed simultaneously from the same input; copy just the one you need.
